Food Distribution for COVID affected
COVID Anna Suraksha - An ISKCON HBR initiative!
The COVID pandemic has thrown the lives of many out of balance. Some have lost their jobs, some are struggling with poor health, some have been isolated and separated from their nearand dear ones and some facing so many other implications of this pandemic situation.
All such trying times bring a lesson to human kind. This one is no different– it has taught us the importance of not taking our freedom and freewill for granted, to not abuse mother nature, to be kind and considerate to all including everyother species on earth and most importantly has been a wake up call to the sleeping humanity in all of us.
With this in mind and prayers for the well being of the society and world,
ISKCON’s Sri Narasimha Giridhari Mandir, HBR Layout, Bengaluru East has started a food helpline to help those in need during this lockdown.
Although this Anna Suraksha program was started to lend a helping hand by distributing food to the residents of nearby slums and labour camps, whose livelihood has been severely affected, this food distribution program has now reached to the aid of COVID patients, the families of these patients, police men on duty in nearby areas and also the doctors, nurses, and other health workers involved in treatment of COVID patients.
What started as a distribution of about 50 plates per day has now expanded to distribution of more than 500 plates, everyday.
ISKCON HBR has also opened a helpline to provide free food those affected by COVID and their families.
The helpline operates from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday. Helpline number is given hereunder. All you have to do is call up the given number and inform us. Food provided here is totally free of cost. Please note that due to the lock down our movements are also restricted. Once you inform us of your food requirement, you can arrange for someone to pickup the food from near our temple premises at Sarvagyanagar, through apps such as Dunzo or Swiggy.
We request everyone reading this article to spread word regarding this helpline and the availability of fresh and hygienically prepared food.
We also thank all our supporters, well wishers, volunteers and donors who have made this program possible and request you to continue your support and encouragement.
